Well for a week when we had both a town council
meeting and a school committee meeting, it was pretty uneventful.
There was of course the news that the state
legislature had finally approved the proposal to let Southbridge residents vote
on a series of amendments to their town charter.
Followers of The O’Zone know that there were a few
wrinkles attached to that event.
On the state level we had the ongoing campaign for
the U.S. Senate. That was marked by some questions about the incumbent’s
previously demonstrated tendency for puffery.
On the national level most of the attention was
directed to tragic developments in the middle east which have no humorous
aspects whatsoever.
So, we’ll just sit back with our scrambled eggs,
bacon and grits and a double Jack Daniels and hope that next week offers a less
grim close.
